Chhota Shakeel's gal beaten by prison inmate
MUMBAI: It was one hell of a cat-fight behind the forbidden walls of the Byculla prison. On Thursday, gangster Chhota Shakeel''s girlfriend, Shamim Mirzabaug, lodged a complaint in the MCOCA court that she was allegedly badly assaulted by Geeta Parmar, an undertrial from the prison.
A burkha clad Shamim (alias Mrs Paul) told the court that Parmar had beaten her severely on her hands, neck and even banged her head against a wall.

"She is terrorising all the women in the jail. She is beating the inmates and extorting money from them. She is trying to create a Hindu-Muslim rift amongst the prison inmates," Shamim said.
Shamim has lodged a complaint with the jail authorities and also given a written complaint to designated judge A P Bhangale. Public prosecutor Rohini Salian, who examined Shamim''s hands, face and head said she (Shamim) was indeed badly beaten up. Parmar has been in prison in a robbery-related case.
The court has directed the officials concerned to take Shamim to JJ hospital for medical treatment and also asked for a detailed medical report.
Shamim was arrested by the crime branch in 2002 after the police intercepted live telephonic conversation and e-mails between her and Shakeel.
She was arrested under MCOCA and is facing charges of abetting organised crime in the country and developing links with Shakeel to extort money from people.
According to crime branch officials, Shamim sent e-mails to Shakeel in Hindi and informed him about the financial transactions and weapon deals in the city. She also paid regular visits to her husband Arif in jail and allegedly handed him cash to be distributed to Shakeel''s men in prison. She is alleged to have joined hands with the underworld after her husband (Arif) was jailed. The court is likely to give its final order in the Shamim case within a fortnight.
